Home Winemaking (Part I)
In this video and the next few videos that follow we’ll be documenting our first foray into vinification (winemaking). We’ll be using a winemaking kit for this first experiment, making an Australian Shiraz. Part one will include preparing the primary fermentation. In later episodes we’ll cover secondary fermentation, clearing, bottling, resting, and finally tasting. Please share your thoughts and comments. Thanks! Halloween Harvest, Roasting Pumpkin Seeds
We use the leavings from our Halloween Jack-o-Lanterns to make some roasted pumpkin seeds. We try two recipes; a sweet maple flavor, and a spicy Cajun variety. We’ll give you the recipes, show you how, and show you how they turn out.
Making Summer Sausage with SSP
Today we’re using a summer sausage kit, a grinder which attaches to my Kitchenaid mixer, and some venison and pork loin to make some tasty summer sausage at home. The results are outstanding. Now if we can just have a successful 2014 whitetail season, maybe we can make some more to give away as gifts.

Just a shot of some of today’s harvest. Tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and lots, and lots of beans. There was more than this, but my lens is only so wide. Anyway, check back late this weekend for one (or more) new video(s).
